All around St. Paul: le banc public. Some are placed according to some perceived necessity, at a bus stop or beside a monument. Most, however, seem to have been placed according to the urgings of the heart, at the top of a steep climb with a view back down the climber’s path or at the spot where sunlight warms a winter afternoon.
